Betty Page

In wake of Betty Page's recent death, I thought a series of photos would be appropriate to reflect on this enigmatic figure.

Nashville Local Designers

There's a great cover story on local designers from the Nashville Scene out right now. It's really very exciting to see how fast the fashion scene has increased in little over a year. It's incredibly inspiring, but a reminder to us is that we must nurture our local fashion scene otherwise one does not exist. If you think hard copies are archaic or can't wait to read the article here's the link

latest creation: Studded motorcycle jacket

I can't decide on whether to add more studs or not. I think I'll keep it this way for at least a while. What do you think? more studs or no?

Zahra's Best Albums of 2008

The Kills-Midnight Boom
The Raconteurs-Consolers of the Lonely
Darker My Love-2
Black Angels-Directions to See a Ghost
No Age-Nouns
MGMT-Oracular Spectacular ( I can't help it..)

The Hives-Black and White album
Vivian Girls- Vivian Girls
Strange Boys- Nothing EP

I'm sure the choices of the kills and the hives will be controversial. I think I'm the only one who actually liked those albums (except Arielle). I congratulate them on making albums that actually sound like they're from 2008.

That's all I can remember of this crazy year. I'm sure I'm missing some albums from the list.

Current Inspiration: Urban Outfitters holiday collection

I've been swooning over the recent holiday edition, urban outfitters' catalogs. I want to prance around in nonfunctional itty-bitty shorts and blazers and pretend its not 30 degrees outside.

Could it be!? A fashion editor who is nice!

Carine Roitfeld is certainly one of my favorite fashion editors in the world. This picture makes me love her even more. I can't picture Anna Wintour ever willing to stop and take a picture with a fan.

Studs and Furs

Happy Thanksgiving! I said I wasn't going to participate in black Friday, but that may change. Bridget introduced the idea of camping outside F21 tonight and making it a sleepover. The idea now sounds more appealing when it's supposedly only going to be 60 degrees around that time. I honestly don't even need anything and I've never experienced black Friday at its opening hours. I'm honestly scared, people seem to excuse any inhumane act with it being black Friday. Who knows what will become of me during black Friday. Will I be knocking over old ladies and children over to get the last pair of size 6 shoes? We'll have to wait and see...

Farewell Bill Blass

Bill Blass recently filed chapter 7. After months of failing sales, the label was forced to liquidate their remaining items. The future of Bill Blass couture is unsure as the collection designed by Peter Som has yet to be released in stores. This is a really sad time in fashion.

Brandon Flowers-GQ

I thought this was something both men and women could enjoy. Nice tuxs and a good looking frontman.

Federico Erra

I think what most people are attracted to in Federico's work is the emotion in every photo.
He captures these beautifully candid moments of true emotion and beauty. It leaves you with this guilty feeling of having pried into a private moment not meant to be seen.

Kings of leon at Municipal Auuditorium

Aside from the circus, I've had little experiences at the municipal auditorium. The sound in the venue rivals any other venue in Nashville. I thought The Whigs and We are the scientists sounded great and I've never been a huge fan of either band, but I have definitely been converted to a whigs fan. Kings of leon were really good. They played a number of songs I hate, but that represents the quality of their performance, because I think it was one of the best shows I've seen from them regardless of that.

I've been to thousands of shows in my lifetime and I have to say that was one of the most rowdy concerts I've ever been to. I never expected to say that in reference to kol, but I've also seen few bands that big in a general admission setting. People elbowing each other in the face, cursing, and pushing all over getting a closer spot. I can't even begin to tell how ridiculous it was because I don't even have the time to devote to it.

A day of chinese buffet and thrifting

There are two things that I can always expect to bring me happiness; Chinese food and thrifting. Then add in a great friend and a perfect day is met. Patrick and I went to our local goodwill for some shopping therapy and to reveal the large events of weekend to one another. Patrick got these amazing, Thom Browne esque trousers and this 70s style, fur trimmed, trench among others. We jointly purchased this truck stop tshirt displaying a wolf and mountain on it and a balmain style blazer for our friend's bday.

I want to wear this corset over this dress.
